Tag Heuer announces new Android Wear 2.0 Watches

Tag Heuer a well renowned brand made many headlines last year for releasing the TAG Heuer Connected smart watch. This year they decided to release a follow up to its widely popular android wear watch and announce its release but ended up releasing the information a day prior to the actual announcement on their site.

The new smartwatch by Tag Heuer is called Connected Modular 45 and much like the name, the device uses a modular design. The Tag Heuer Connected Modular 45 smartwatch was rumored to be released in May and announced on March 14th. The rumors soon proved to be true and Tag Heuer announced they will be announcing a new smartwatch on March 14th. However, Tag Heuer ended up surprising their own surprise as all the information regarding the new smartwatch was released a day before on the site.

As reported by the rumors, the Tag Heuer Connected Modular 45 smartwatch will be powered by the Android Wear 2.0. The Android Wear 2.0 is the most powerful version of Google’s operating System for wearable devices. It will also be powered by an Intel CPU and 4GB Ram, have a 45 mm watchface, as well as having features like NFC, GPS, along with being water-resistant to 50 meters. The display will have an AMOLED Screen and ambient light sensors whereas the battery will last longer than 24 hours to ensure optimal use.

A key feature of the Connected Modular 45 smartwatch is its Modular part. According to the details, you can switch the smartwatch module with an analogue module whenever you want. The mechical module with feature a 3-hand mechanical tourbillon as well as having a “Swiss Made” certification, allowing it to challenge the luxury variants of the Apple Watch.

Besides the modular piece, the straps, lugs, and buckles are also interchangeable as well as being available in a variety of different colors. Customers will be able to choose between titanium or PVD for the buckles. On the other hand, customer can choose titanium, titanium with 18K rose gold, titanium with matte black ceramic, and titanium with diamonds for the lugs.

If you’d like to get the new Connected Modular 45 smartwatch for yourself, it will cost $1,650 in the US and 1,600 Euros in Europe. As of now, no on-sale release date has been provided but we will keep you updated as new information is made available.
