GitHub Proactively Resets Breached Users Passwords

GitHub yesterday announced that it had reset a undisclosed “large” number of user account passwords, after a third-party breach was proved to contain some shared credentials used on the GitHub platform.

GitHub was quick to assure us that “GitHub has not been hacked or compromised.” and this is simply a proactive step to ensure platform security. TechToday would like to take this chance to remind you each account you have online needs a separate password…. especially any connecting to banking or sensitive data.

Individual users that where effected should expect a email from GitHub shortly.
